Easy Wheel Wheelchair Experiential Circuit
A very interesting wheelchair circuit will be set up by wheelchair-bound Melvin Lek's Easy Wheel Services & Trading Co. to let you try handling and moving about in a wheelchair. The public can try out a variety of wheelchairs from domestic to sport to featherweight.
BizLink Centre Singapore Exhibition Sale of T-shirts and Handicraft Items that are designed, printed and/or handmade by people with disabilities as part of their livelihood from BizLink Centre Singapore, the centralised job placement agency for people with disability in Singapore. BizLink also runs a sheltered workshop employing people with different disabilities to showcase to potential employers.
Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH) Exhibition Sale of Furniture and Cane Baskets that are designed and produced by visually handicapped members of the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH). SAVH aims to improve the well-being of the visually handicapped and it provides skill training to impart in them the necessary skills for independent living and working.
Mouth & Foot Painting Artists Live Painting Demonstration and Exhibition Sale of Greeting Cards by artists from the Mouth & Foot Painting Artists Pte Ltd will be showcasing some of their paintings, greeting cards as well as their painstakingly acquired skills to paint with their mouth or foot.
Gilbert Tan Song Performance by Gilbert Tan
A wheelchair-bound tetraplegic who is a mouth artist and a song composer. Having just released his 4th album, he will be performing some of his new songs at the Fair at about 11am. Visit Gilbert's homepage.
The Spastic Children's Association of Singapore (SCAS) Exhibition Sale of Handmade Candles and Bookmarks that are designed and made by members of the The Spastic Children's Association of Singapore (SCAS) under the Goodwill Rehabilitation and Occupational Workshop (GROW). SCAS provides medical treatment and therapy for children and adults with cerebral palsy in Singapore. GROW provides vocational training and employment for adults aged 18 years and above.
Very Special Arts Singapore (VSAS) Exhibition Sale of Arts and Handicraft Items that are painted and produced by artists from the Very Special Arts Singapore (VSAS). VSAS provides people with disabilities with opportunities to access the arts for rehabilitation and social integration. It runs Visual and Performing Arts programmes for children and adults with differing disabilities, as well as their teachers, parents and volunteers.
The Society for the Physically Disabled (SPD) Exhibition Sale of Handmade Photo Albums and Bookmarks that are designed and made by people with disability who work at the The Society for the Physically Disabled (SPD). SPD runs a Sheltered Workshop that provides employment and training for disabled adults who have difficulty seeking employment in the open market. Employment, albeit simple, gives the disabled some degree of social and financial independence. Currently, 110 beneficiaries come to the workshop every day, Mondays to Fridays.
Singapore Sports Council for the Disabled (SSCD)
Exhibition of Sports and Recreational Activities for the Disabled by the Singapore Sports Council for the Disabled (SSCD). SSCD promotes and co-ordinates sports and recreational activities for people with disabilities in Singapore. It organises sporting events such as track and field meets, swimming competitions and other indoor games competitions.
Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS) Exhibition by the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS) on its range of activities and assistance programmes for people with intellectual disabilities. The main aim of MINDS is to educate, care, train and assist Intellectually Disabled Persons (IDPS) to be independent and useful persons who can play a role in our society. It runs 5 special education schools, 3 employment development centres, 2 residential homes and 2 day activity centres.
NTUC Income Exhibition of Healthy Lifestyle by NTUC Income on the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle and its choice of fitness centres.
The Magic Ark The Magic Ark, the IT double-decker bus from Raffles Girls' School will also participate to allow surfing by the visitors into various websites related to this project.
